Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
🏰The 2015 M. Chapoutier Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois is a 【full-bodied, dense, and plummy single vineyard Grenache】 from a strong vintage, offering ample freshness and spicy complexity. This deep ruby wine reveals heady aromas of fresh red and blue fruits, potpourri, licorice, white pepper, cola, blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, violets, and exotic Asian spices. The palate is juicy and deeply concentrated with boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors, evolving into luscious, silky, sweet, peppery red fruits, supported by building, sweet tannins and blockbuster length.
🍴 An excellent pairing for rich Chinese Cantonese braised lamb or beef brisket, and classic Western lamb dishes.
🥂 This wine is built for the long haul, capable of aging for 30 to 60 years, and is ideal for significant celebrations or as a prized addition to a serious cellar. It is recommended to cellar for 2-4 years from its review date (2017/2018) to allow it to fully develop.
BACKGROUND
Maison M. Chapoutier is one of the most recognizable producers in the Rhône Valley. It is known for its wines from both the north and south of the valley, but in particular for its red and white Hermitage wines, made from Syrah and a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, respectively.Outside of the flagship vineyards in Hermitage, Chapoutier has vineyards across the Rhône, including plots in Côte Rôtie, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Condrieu. These span both single-vineyard expressions and generic AOC-level wines. Chapoutier also makes regional Côtes du Rhône wines, and has viticultural interests in Australia (Domaine Tournon), Portugal and Alsace.
