🏰【From the highly regarded Domaine Bernard-Bonin, the 2022 Meursault Clos du Cromin is a captivating Chardonnay that showcases the village's savory richness and the producer's clean, mineral-driven style.】 The Clos du Cromin vineyard, once planted with red grapes until 1971, was replanted to Chardonnay by the Bonin family. Bernard Bonin is known for fine-tuning their winemaking in recent vintages, with the 2022 whites showing particularly well. This parcel is south-southeast facing, at the border of Volnay-Santenots, with a thinner topsoil at Bonin's plot. Early reviews for the 2022 vintage highlight beautiful abundant ripe citrus, particularly tangerine, and white fruits against perfect acidity. The oak is pronounced, and the wine has more fruit, oak, and tannins, with a textured, lovely minerality. It offers notes of oak, butter, vanilla, minerals, honey, stone, citrus, lime, and lemon, with stone fruit, apple, and pear.
🍴 Excellent with pasta, rich fish (salmon, tuna, etc.), mild and soft cheeses, chicken, and turkey.
🥂 A superb choice for a sophisticated dinner, a special occasion, or to cellar for a few years to allow the oak and tannins to integrate further.
