🏰 The 2019 vintage in Burgundy, particularly for white wines like Meursault, is generally considered excellent, offering a balance of richness and freshness. Anne Boisson's Meursault Sous la Velle 2019 is expected to showcase the classic characteristics of the appellation. Meursault wines are known for their rich, almost fat and round palate, often exhibiting toasted nutty flavors of almonds and hazelnuts, alongside notes of lemon zest, green and yellow apple, and hints of crème fraîche and white stone minerality.
🍴 Meursault pairs beautifully with subtle and fine-textured fish or meat, such as grilled lobster, crawfish, or king prawns in garlic butter sauce. It also complements poultry or veal with white sauce, and dishes with aromatic and crisp textures that match the wine's lively minerality and acidity. Creamy, washed-rind cheeses like Brie or Gruyère are excellent choices, and even blue cheese can make a superb pairing. For a more adventurous pairing, try teriyaki chicken meatballs.
🥂 This elegant white Burgundy is perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a celebratory meal, or a special occasion where a rich, complex white wine is desired. Its versatility with food also makes it suitable for a gourmet lunch or a refined evening gathering.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Pierre Boisson/Anne Boisson is a family winery. The winery is run by father Bernard (retired in 2016), son Pierre and daughter Anne. Although it is the same winery, the wines produced by the three people will be labeled separately. on their respective names. They jointly own 8.5 hectares of land around the Cote de Beaune, and the vineyard's terroir is wet stone and flint, giving the grapes more minerality.
