🏰news | features: The 2020 vintage of Jean Claude Bachelet Chassagne Montrachet Les Boudriottes 1er Cru is a simply stunning young wine, praised for its captivating aromatics and pronounced palate. This vintage shows more flair than the 2015, reflecting the domaine's signature style. La Boudriotte, part of the extensive Premier Cru Morgeot, is known for producing full-bodied and sturdy Chassagne whites, with Bachelet's approach bringing concentration with finesse.
+ short tasting note: 【Captivating aromatics of yellow orchard fruit, citrus oils, white flowers, and baking spice lead to a viscous, full-bodied palate with good flavors and a delicately silky, fine, and stylish texture.】 Expect notes of butter, vanilla, oak, minerals, honey, and hints of peach and pineapple.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This versatile white Burgundy pairs beautifully with rich fish like salmon or tuna, pasta dishes, and mild, soft cheeses. It's also an excellent match for chicken and turkey.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a special celebration, this wine is ready to impress now but also has potential for further evolution.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils is a well-regarded wine producer based in the town of Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France. It produces a range of wines, predominantly Chardonnay, from fruit in Saint-Aubin and neighboring Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet, including a plot in the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru site. The eponymous Jean-Claude Bachelet established the domaine name in the 1970s although the family has winemaking history dating back to the 17th Century. Jean-Claude's sons Jean-Baptiste and Benoit progressively took over the running of the domaine in the early 2000s and the cellars were rennovated in 2010.
