🏰 The 2013 Burgundy vintage was generally considered a challenging year, particularly for reds, but whites often fared better, especially for producers who managed their vineyards meticulously. While specific detailed reports for Anne Boisson Meursault Sous La Velle 2013 are not readily available, Meursault wines from this vintage typically exhibit good acidity and freshness, often with a leaner profile than warmer years. The vintage was characterized by a cool, damp spring and a late harvest, which could lead to wines with bright acidity and a more mineral-driven character. Meursault, a renowned white Burgundy appellation, is known for producing full-bodied, rich Chardonnay wines with notes of hazelnut, butter, and often a distinctive minerality. Anne Boisson, as part of the Boisson-Vadot family, is highly regarded for crafting traditional, age-worthy Meursaults that emphasize purity and terroir expression. 【Crafted by a highly regarded producer known for traditional, age-worthy Meursaults emphasizing purity and terroir expression】.
🍴 This white Burgundy would be an excellent match for rich seafood dishes like pan-seared scallops with a butter sauce, grilled turbot, or creamy lobster bisque. It also pairs beautifully with roasted chicken or veal in a cream sauce, and classic Burgundian dishes like escargots. For cheese, consider Comté or a mature Brie.
🥂 Ideal for a refined dinner party, a special family gathering, or as a sophisticated accompaniment to a gourmet meal. Its potential for graceful aging also makes it a good choice for those looking to add a classic white Burgundy to their cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Pierre Boisson/Anne Boisson is a family winery. The winery is run by father Bernard (retired in 2016), son Pierre and daughter Anne. Although it is the same winery, the wines produced by the three people will be labeled separately. on their respective names. They jointly own 8.5 hectares of land around the Cote de Beaune, and the vineyard's terroir is wet stone and flint, giving the grapes more minerality.
