🏰 The 2007 Marc Sorrel Hermitage Les Rocoules (Blanc) is a testament to the aging potential of white Hermitage. While the 2007 Rhône vintage was generally outstanding for reds, this white wine from Marc Sorrel has developed beautifully, transforming from a tough and unyielding youth into a fabulous, understatedly powerful and appealing wine. It is crafted primarily from Marsanne and Roussanne grapes.
🍴 This exquisite white Hermitage is a superb match for lobster. It also pairs wonderfully with a myriad of seafood dishes, including shellfish, crab, sushi, and sashimi. Beyond seafood, consider it with chicken, pork, veal, and various Asian cuisines. Rich fish like salmon or tuna, and mature, hard cheeses are also excellent companions.
🥂 This wine is at its best with 12-15 years of age and can provide fabulous drinking for at least 3-4 decades, making it ideal for significant anniversaries or a luxurious gastronomic experience. For serving, young vintages can benefit from 2-4 hours of decanting to soften and open their perfume. Older vintages may only need minimal decanting to remove sediment. Serve at approximately 15.5 degrees Celsius (60 degrees Fahrenheit) to enhance its freshness and lift. Remember that older corks and capsules can be fragile, so handle with care. 【Fabulous, age-worthy white Hermitage from a historic producer】
