FEATURES
🏰Henri Perrot-Minot's Chambolle Musigny 2023, from a highly anticipated young vintage, promises the quintessential elegance and "silky" texture of this revered Burgundy appellation. Henri Perrot-Minot is a highly regarded producer in Burgundy, known for crafting expressive Pinot Noir wines. The 2023 vintage in Burgundy is very recent, with early indications suggesting a good vintage, though specific characteristics for Chambolle-Musigny from this producer are still emerging. Chambolle-Musigny wines are celebrated for their elegance, finesse, and "silky" texture, often displaying aromas of red berries, violets, and a delicate minerality.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with lighter meats such as pork loin, game birds (pheasant, chicken, turkey), rabbit, grilled red meat, mushrooms, duck, tenderloin, and mild, fruity cheeses. For optimal enjoyment, avoid pairing with heavy red meats or strong, pungent sauces.
🥂 A promising young Burgundy for cellaring, or for those who enjoy tasting wines in their youth to appreciate their primary fruit and structure. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Perrot Minot is headquartered in Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits region, north of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Red wine is mainly made from Pinot Noir. The history of the winery can be traced back to the "Domaine Merme-Morizot" at the end of the 19th century. In 1993, it was taken over by Christophe Perrot-Minot, who acquired Domaine Pernin-Rossin and its assets in 2000. In 1999, the domaine also began a négociant business, producing wine from fruit from its partner vineyards, including several Grand Cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin. The winery produces wine from seven Grand Cru vineyards, the most famous of which is Chambertin, as well as a series of First Growth vineyards. Yields are strictly limited and green harvesting is done in specific plots, so some vines can only produce five bunches of grapes.
