🏰 The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was challenging but produced wines of freshness and precision, particularly for white wines. While specific details for Armand Heitz's Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie 1er Cru 2021 are still emerging, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru wines are generally celebrated for their elegance, minerality, and capacity for aging. They typically offer a beautiful balance of fruit, floral, and nutty notes, often with a distinctive stony character. 【 A premier cru white Burgundy known for elegance, minerality, and aging potential. 】
🍴 This Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru, being a white Burgundy, would be exquisite with rich seafood dishes like pan-seared scallops, lobster, or grilled turbot. It also pairs beautifully with roasted chicken or veal in cream sauces, and a variety of aged hard cheeses like Comté or Gruyère. For an Eastern touch, consider delicate dim sum or steamed fish with ginger and spring onion.
🥂 This wine is ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or a refined tasting event focused on premier cru Burgundy. Its complexity and elegance make it a perfect choice for moments that call for a truly distinguished white wine.
BACKGROUND
The winery's history dates back to 1857 with the Nié-Vantey family. Over the years, it passed through several generations, with significant contributions from Georges Lochardet and his descendants. In 2011, Armand Heitz, the grandson of Armand Lochardet, took over the estate and introduced innovative practices like biodynamic farming and later permaculture.
