Hubert Lamy, Saint Aubin 1er Cru Clos Du Meix, 2021
🏰The 2021 Hubert Lamy Saint Aubin 1er Cru Clos du Meix is a testament to 【precision and vibrant minerality】, reflecting the challenging yet rewarding 2021 Burgundy vintage for white wines. While yields were lower due to frost and hail, the resulting white wines often exhibit excellent acidity, freshness, and a focused, leaner style. Hubert Lamy's Saint Aubin wines are highly regarded for their crystalline purity and distinct terroir expression. Expect bright notes of green apple, lemon zest, and white flowers, intertwined with a pronounced stony or chalky minerality. A subtle hint of hazelnut or butter from careful oak aging may also emerge, adding complexity to its energetic profile.
🍴 This crisp and mineral-driven white Burgundy is an exquisite pairing for fresh oysters, grilled white fish, elaborate seafood platters, tangy goat cheese, and delicate poultry dishes in cream sauces.
🥂 An excellent choice for an elegant aperitif, a sophisticated seafood dinner, or a refreshing summer garden party, offering both immediate pleasure and potential for short-term aging.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hubert Lamy is a wine estate based in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy, France, producing well-regarded wines from that appellation. The majority of the domaine vineyards are in Saint-Aubin, with around two-thirds of the holdings are given to Chardonnay and the remaining third, Pinot Noir. The domain was established in 1973, but the Lamy family history of vine growing in Saint-Aubin dates back to 1640. Since setting up, Hubert Lamy has passed management of the domaine onto his son Olivier Lamy and his wife Karine.
