Faiveley, Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru, 2019
🏰 The 2019 Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru is a 【remarkably elegant wine with silky smooth tannins and a very distinctive finish】, hailing from a parcel situated in the center of the village, equidistant from 'Musigny' and 'Les Bonnes-Mares'. This vintage is noted for its intense ruby red color and an attractive nose offering fresh red fruits, sweet spices, oaky notes, and a touch of smoke. The palate is smooth and persistent, with fruity, oaky notes that linger. Wine Spectator rated it 95 points, describing it as a ripe red with macerated cherry, black currant, sandalwood, vanilla, and stone flavors carried by a vibrant structure. It's built for longevity, with a drinking window suggested from 2026 through 2047.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy, with its vibrant red fruit and spicy notes, would be an exquisite pairing for roasted poultry like duck or pheasant, delicate game, or mushroom risotto. Its fine tannins will complement rich, earthy flavors without overpowering them.
🥂 An excellent choice for a celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or a sophisticated gathering of wine connoisseurs. Its aging potential also makes it a great addition to a cellar. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
