Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Chambolle Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru, 2018
🏰 The 2018 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru is a superb cuvée from a ripe vintage, showcasing the attentive winemaking of the Mugneret sisters. 【This 1er Cru Pinot Noir bursts from the glass with a lavish bouquet of raspberries, red cherries, rose petals, blood orange, and warm spices.】 It has a beautifully defined nose of vivid red berry fruit infused with wilted rose petals and peony. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered, and enveloping, with lively acids, superb concentration, and a sun-kissed sweetness of fruit that reflects the vintage. Despite its 14.2% alcohol, the wine is harmonious with crisp tannins, though some precision might be scalped. It combines intensity with graceful elegance.
🍴 This elegant yet powerful red Burgundy pairs wonderfully with roasted duck, pan-seared game birds, mushroom tarts, or delicate beef preparations like beef tenderloin. Its floral and red fruit notes also make it a good match for dishes with subtle spice.
🥂 This wine is perfect for a special celebration or a refined dinner. It is drinking beautifully now and has excellent aging potential, with a recommended drinking window between 2023-2040. Serve at a cool cellar temperature (around 16-18°C) to allow its complex aromatics to shine.
