FEATURES
🏰From the highly respected Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg, the 2011 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is lauded as 【one of the absolute best from this appellation】, often compared to Musigny in its complexity and nuance, and punching above its vintage. The 2011 vintage in 布根地, particularly for reds, was a success, offering charm, plump weight, and definition. Clos de Vougeot specifically seemed to be a particular success in the Côte de Nuits for this vintage. Expect a bright ruby color. The bouquet is mineral-led, opening to subtle raspberry leaf, bergamot scents, and potpourri. It exudes complexity and nuance, with a blend of red and black cherries, plums, nutskin, soil, woodsmoke, and new oak. The palate is pure, full-bodied, and very elegant, with a rock-solid core, ripe, classy tannins, and laser-like focus. It has excellent richness and overt power, with fine-grained tannins and an explosively long finish.
🍴 This superb red 布根地 is excellent with duck, goose, and game birds. It also pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, rich mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses.
🥂 A superb choice for a serious 布根地 collector, a special anniversary, or a luxurious dinner where a complex and evolving red wine is desired. This wine is still young and has significant aging potential (2021-2041, 2015-2028+, can age another 10-20 years). Decanting for several hours is highly recommended to allow it to fully express its complexity. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
