Gros Frere Et Soeur, Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru, 1992
🏰The 1992 Gros Frere et Soeur Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru is a rare and mature red Burgundy, offering a glimpse into the 【evolution of a prestigious Grand Cru from a respected producer】. While 1992 was a challenging vintage in Burgundy, Gros Frere et Soeur's meticulous vineyard management and winemaking expertise often allowed them to produce wines that transcended the vintage's difficulties. Expect a wine that has developed tertiary aromas of dried leaves, forest floor, leather, and subtle spice, layered over fading red fruit. The palate, though fully mature, should still retain a delicate structure, soft tannins, and a savory, earthy finish, characteristic of aged Pinot Noir from a Grand Cru site.
🍴 This mature Grand Cru would be best paired with simple, elegant dishes that won't overpower its delicate nuances. Think roasted guinea fowl, pan-seared duck breast with a light reduction, or a refined mushroom tart. For an Asian pairing, a delicate steamed chicken with ginger and spring onion, or a subtle braised pigeon would be appropriate.
🥂 Ideal for a very special, intimate dinner with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts, or as a contemplative wine to appreciate the beauty of aged Pinot Noir. It's a wine that invites reflection on its journey through time. Kindly remember that with wines of this age, the cork and capsule may be fragile, so careful handling and a professional corkscrew are recommended. The wine may also have sediment, so decanting should be done gently if desired, or simply pour carefully.
