🏰 The 2022 Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Bourgogne Les Lutenières is a **stunning Bourgogne that punches well above its weight class**, offering a voluptuous yet balanced expression from a single, historic Vosne-Romanée parcel. This charming and immediate wine bursts with aromas of 【cherries, raspberries, and sweet new oak】, complemented by notes of 【dark cherry, ripe strawberry, and earthy undertones】. The palate is medium-bodied, ample, and fleshy, showcasing a seamless and expressive character with a sweet density and profound persistence for a regional Burgundy. The 2022 Burgundy vintage itself was excellent, yielding wines with concentrated fruit, aromatics, and structure, balanced by freshness and moderate alcohol, making them approachable young yet capable of aging.
🍴 This versatile red Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic French bistro fare like coq au vin or roasted chicken with herbs. For an Asian twist, consider Cantonese roast goose or char siu, where the wine's fruit and spice notes can complement the rich, savory flavors.
🥂 Perfect for a relaxed dinner party with friends, a casual weeknight meal, or as an impressive "house wine" to elevate any gathering.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a French producer of high-quality Pinot Noir located in the Côte de Nuits, famous for its wines from Burgundy's most popular vineyards. The winery was founded in 1933, and in the 1950s small plots of land were purchased to expand the family's vineyards. Incorporated in 2009 as Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg. The most rare and expensive wines of the winery come from the Grand Cru vineyards Ruchottes Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot and Echézeaux, and it also produces Burgundy red wine from multiple Premier Cru vineyards.
