🏰 The 2010 vintage for Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy was a 【great vintage, yielding outstanding premiers crus and a handful of village wines】. Despite a challenging growing season with a cold winter that significantly reduced the crop and uneven ripening due to late flowering, the remaining healthy, ripe fruit produced wines with notable freshness and purity, surpassing 2009. Expect an intensely spiced and deep character, with a seductive, highly spiced nose and suave, round, fleshy mid-weight flavors leading to a detailed, intense, and mineral-inflected finish.
🍴 This elegant red 布根地 Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, delicate game birds, mushroom-based dishes such as truffle risotto, or refined red meats like veal or lamb loin.
🥂 Perfect for a special occasion, an intimate dinner, or a serious tasting session among Burgundy enthusiasts. Its maturity makes it ideal for immediate enjoyment, showcasing the finesse of a well-aged Vosne-Romanée. Serve at 16-18°C (60-65°F). Decanting for 30-60 minutes can help it open up beautifully, revealing its full aromatic complexity.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Yves Bizot is a small Burgundy wine producer located in the Côte de Nuits, making Pinot Noir on several small plots of the Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyard and the Grand Cru chézeaux vineyard. It also produces small amounts of Chardonnay at the village and Burgundy Blanc levels, and has plots in Massanai and Burgundy Chapit. The total area of the estate is just over three hectares. The current incarnation of the domaine was founded in 1995, when Jean Yves Bizot, a professor of oenology, inherited the domaine and vineyards from his family and followed a largely unconventional winemaking process.
