🏰The 1990 Jacques Frederic Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru represents a 【rare opportunity to experience a mature expression from one of Burgundy's most revered vineyards and producers】. Musigny Grand Cru wines are known for their elegance and structure, typically showing aromas and flavors of red cherries and spice. At 36 years old, this 1990 vintage, from a generally excellent year for Burgundy, will have evolved significantly, offering complex tertiary notes of forest floor, dried flowers, truffle, and savory undertones, alongside any lingering fruit character. Expect a wine of profound depth and finesse, though its primary fruit will have receded.
🍴 This refined Grand Cru pairs beautifully with delicate yet rich dishes such as filet mignon with not-too-spicy sauces, rich pork, or game birds. With its age, it would also be exquisite with roast duck with cabbage, sweetbreads, or subtly flavored game.
🥂 A truly exceptional wine for a milestone anniversary, a significant birthday, or a very special, intimate gathering of serious wine lovers. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C. Given its considerable age, the cork may be fragile, so open with extreme care. Decanting should be approached cautiously; a very gentle decant just before serving to remove sediment is advisable, but prolonged aeration might diminish its delicate mature aromas.
