FEATURES
🏰 The 1998 Trimbach Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile is an 【outstanding Alsatian Riesling from a great vintage】, prized by connoisseurs for its breed and finesse. Sourced from the choicest south and southeast-facing slopes of Ribeauvillé, this long-lived wine is crafted from very ripe, selectively picked grapes from old vines. It's known for its dry, firmly-structured yet very fruity character, revealing fascinating mineral nuances after years in bottle.
🍴 This versatile and complex Riesling is an ideal partner for a wide array of dishes. It pairs exceptionally well with Chinese takeout (baked crab, fried shrimp, calamari), meaty and oily fish, fusion cuisines, Alsatian gastronomy, noble fish, raw fish, shellfish, white meats, and dishes with white wine sauces or oriental spices. It can even vie with a Bâtard-Montrachet as a partner to grilled lobster with Sauce Cardinale.
🥂 This wine has aged beautifully, still showing freshness and vibrancy, with many bottles still having a lot of life ahead. It's perfect for a special dinner, a celebration, or a serious tasting to appreciate the evolution of a top Alsatian Riesling.
BACKGROUND
Trimbach is one of the oldest wineries in the French wine region of Alsace, dating back to 1626. Alongside Riesling, Trimbach has a range of classic Alsace varieties planted in its vineyards, including Sylvaner, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat and Pinot Noir. The portolio covers a range of styles, but dry, ageworthy wines with great minerality are Trimbach's specialty. The house makes a few Vendages Tardives and Selection de Grains Nobles wines, as well as some Eaux-de-Vie.
