FEATURES
🏰 The 1994 Chateau Haut Brion, one of the five First Growths of Bordeaux, is considered a 【"surprise sleeper" of the vintage, showcasing complexity and elegance despite a challenging, wet September harvest】. The tremendous drainage of the Haut-Brion vineyard worked in its favor. This wine presents a deep plum/ruby color with a bit of lightening at the edge. The nose is quintessential Graves, with notes of black tarry fruit, black truffles, sandalwood, compost, earth, spice box, dried herbs, and licorice, competing with sweet black cherry and currant fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with cedar and tobacco on the entry, lovely balance, and a hint of truffle inflecting the black fruit. It's a masculine, structured effort with a potentially more complex, richer character, and a relatively plump, chewy feel. 🍴 This legendary Bordeaux pairs exquisitely with all types of classic meat dishes, including veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, and game, whether roasted, braised, or grilled. It also complements Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna or salmon, mushrooms, and pasta. 🥂 An exceptional choice for a truly special occasion, a significant anniversary, or for collectors to experience a mature First Growth Bordeaux. Serving suggestion: For a wine of this age (over 30 years), stand the bottle upright for at least 24 hours to allow sediment to settle. Decant gently 1-2 hours before serving to separate the wine from sediment and allow it to breathe. Be mindful of older corks and capsules which can be fragile. Serve at 15.5°C (60°F) to give the wine more freshness and lift.
