FEATURES
The 2023 Pierre Vincent Bourgogne Pinot Noir Rouge emerges from a Burgundy vintage described as "the rarest of birds, offering both quality and quantity". This year yielded a generous crop of ripe fruit, with reds that are surprisingly concentrated yet avoid over-ripeness. The wines are aromatic, perfumed, and showcase clean, pure aromas of blue or red berries with pronounced floral notes, reflecting a more "Burgundian" character than recent warmer vintages. Pierre Vincent, a qualified oenologist and former General Manager of Domaine Leflaive, founded his estate in 2023, focusing on the pure expression of terroir from his 50 to 100-year-old vines. 【From a celebrated oenologist, offering pure terroir expression from old vines in a generous vintage】
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir presents a brilliant, clear ruby-red hue. On the nose, it offers pure red fruits like strawberries, cherries, and red currants, elegantly complemented by subtle flowery notes and a hint of chalk. The palate is juicy, supple, and very drinkable, with fine, chalky tannins and a refreshing finish. Expect vibrant, crisp fruit freshness, lovely acidity, and a suave mid-palate that leads to a long, fruited, leafy finish. Some critics note a crisp nose with blackcurrant and raspberry scents, a touch of briar, and a medium-bodied profile with sappy red fruit and a gentle grip.
This versatile red Burgundy pairs beautifully with beef, veal, poultry, and various game birds. It's also an excellent match for tomato-based pasta dishes, sautéed vegetables, grilled white meats with herbs, or roasted fillet of beef with vegetables.
The 2023 Pierre Vincent Bourgogne Pinot Noir is quite open and enjoyable now with some aeration, but it is expected to improve further with an additional five years of bottle age. It's a wine of pure pleasure, charming and transparent, making it suitable for a wide range of casual to more formal gatherings. It is recommended for drinking from 2026 to 2030.
