FEATURES
The 2014 vintage for Champagne was a challenging yet ultimately successful year. A warm, dry spring was followed by a cool and wet July and August, but a benign September with warm, dry conditions ultimately saved the harvest. While not an exceptional year, the resulting crop was generally very good, with Chardonnay performing particularly well. Egly-Ouriet's 2014 Brut Millésime Grand Cru is described as a strikingly vinous and enveloping Champagne. It offers aromas of pear, mirabelle plum, freshly baked bread, almond paste, and honeycomb. The palate is full-bodied, satiny, and layered, with a deep, concentrated mid-palate of exceptional purity and cut, leading to a long, penetrating, and mouthwateringly saline finish. This Champagne is a blend of approximately 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from Ambonnay Grand Cru, fermented and aged in barrel for 96-100 months. 【Truly vinous Champagne, striking in concentration and complexity from a family "grower" house】. The wines tend to be generous and forward in fruit, making them approachable in their youth, yet possessing the structure to age.
