Chateau des Tours Rouge Reserve 2010, from the esteemed Rayas estate, embodies this exceptional vintage with its 【rich textures, finessed tannins, and balancing freshness】. These wines are known for their concentration, purity, and structure, offering significant cellaring potential. Expect a wine that is now entering its drinking window, showcasing concentrated fruit and developed earthy notes.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This powerful yet elegant Southern Rhone red would be magnificent with slow-braised beef short ribs with star anise, roasted duck with plum sauce, or a hearty lamb stew. For a more adventurous pairing, try it with a rich Cantonese claypot rice (煲仔飯) with preserved meats (臘味).
🥂 fit for event suggestion: Ideal for a serious wine collector's dinner, a special family gathering, or a celebratory meal where a robust and complex red wine is desired. It's a wine that will spark conversation and delight connoisseurs.
BACKGROUND
Château Rayas is a leading producer in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the Rhône Valley, France. It is one of the region's most prestigious estates, and its wines fetch some of the highest prices in southern France. The estate covers 22 hectares, with 15 hectares dedicated to vineyards. Most of their vines are planted to Grenache. The estate's red wine is made solely from Grenache. The château's white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is generally made from Grenache Blanc and Clairette in roughly equaly proportions. Château Rayas has been in the Reynaud family since the 1880s.
