FEATURES
The 2019 Greer Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford, Napa Valley, is a wine of remarkable purity and intensity. The vintage itself was slightly warmer than 2018, leading to a wine with more power and darker fruit characteristics, yet maintaining incredible balance and refinement. Acclaimed winemaker Aaron Pott, who has crafted these wines since 2007, has produced a Cabernet Sauvignon that is both opulent and precise.
Tasting notes reveal a deep ruby color, with aromatics that open to crème de cassis, toasted spice, smoked tobacco, cedar pencil, and hints of plum, dark chocolate, dust, and sage. On the palate, it's full-bodied, lush, and layered, offering flavors of blackcurrant, violet, blackberry, and dark cherry fruit, framed by ripe, silky tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long, multi-dimensional, and incredibly satisfying, with an earthy, dusty character. While enjoyable now, critics suggest it will further improve with another 5+ years of aging, with some recommending to try after 2025.
