FEATURES
The 2015 Giuseppe Quintarelli Ca del Merlo is a red wine from Veneto, Italy, produced by the legendary Giuseppe Quintarelli, affectionately known as 'Bepi,' who established the estate's near-mythical status. The 2015 vintage was an excellent year for wine in Europe, with an intensely hot summer, but growers generally delivered stunning wines. This particular vintage is noted for its vibrancy and effusive everyday drinkability.
【 Maestro del Veneto 】 The Ca del Merlo is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a seasoning of Oseleta, with a small portion of the grapes gently dried. This blend brings together Valpolicella traditions with international influences. Tasting notes reveal dark fruit, blackcurrant, mint, sage, and lilac, with a bouquet garni character. The palate is rich with red and dark fruit, layers of dry herbs and spice, finishing firm, tight, and precise. Some tasters also note slight funk/leather, spice, cured meats, and ripe cherry and strawberry aftertastes, with high acidity.
🍴 Food Pairing: This rich and intense red wine is an ideal match for beef and venison.
🥂 Event Suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special occasion celebrating Italian winemaking, or as a thoughtful gift for a wine connoisseur. Its complexity and aging potential also make it suitable for cellaring and enjoying over the next decade.
