FEATURES
The 1991 vintage in Burgundy was initially overlooked, coming after the highly acclaimed 1990. However, it proved to be a successful vintage, particularly for white wines, which were of reasonable quality and showed elegance and pure fruit. The summer was hot and dry, with good weather continuing through most of September, leading to a rapid harvest. Domaine Albert Grivault's Meursault Clos des Perrières 1er Cru is from a plot considered by some to be the best Meursault 1er cru, capable of standing up to Montrachet. These white wines are known for their bright, acidic nature and astounding levels of clear minerality. Tasting notes for Meursault Clos des Perrières often highlight butter, oak, vanilla, honey, minerals, stone, and citrus notes. Some describe it as rich, elegant, balanced, and complex, with yellow apples, melon, grapefruit, toast, hazelnut, white flowers, and salted caramel. 【A Premier Cru with Grand Cru aspirations, known for its exceptional minerality】. For a wine of this age, expect a beautiful evolution of aromas and flavours, with developed nutty, honeyed, and perhaps some earthy or mushroom notes complementing the underlying fruit and minerality. The cork might be delicate; use a quality corkscrew. Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to open up and to separate any sediment, but monitor it closely to prevent over-oxidation. Serve at 12-14°C. This wine is ideal for a special celebration, a sophisticated dinner, or a serious tasting session. It pairs excellently with rich poultry dishes in creamy sauces, veal, delicate white fish, lobster, crawfish, or soft to semi-hard cheeses like Brie or Gruyère.
