FEATURES
The 2017 Anne Gros Chambolle Musigny La Combe d'Orveau is a highly sought-after red Burgundy from a cult winery. Anne Gros, who took over her family's winery in the late 1980s, has become renowned for her expertise, crafting terroir-driven red Burgundies with natural finesse. The La Combe d'Orveau parcel, situated at the southern limit of Chambolle and Vosne Romanée, is known for its delicate and elegant wines. The 2017 vintage in Burgundy saw a bountiful harvest with good grape health, despite some dryness in late summer, and benefited from significant rains before harvest. 【Anne Gros is one of Burgundy's most sought-after winemakers, known for elegance and purity】. This Chambolle Musigny typically exhibits a beautiful ruby color. Tasting notes often highlight red fruit (redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, cherry) and floral nuances (roses, violets, rose petal, perfume). Some notes also mention earthy, mushroom, and oaky characteristics. The wine is often described as delicate and elegant, with lower acidity and balanced tannins. It is recommended to drink it fairly young (between 2 to 10 years) to fully appreciate its elegant texture. 🍴 Food Pairing: This elegant Pinot Noir is a great match for poultry, roasted red meat, and mild cheeses. It would also complement dishes like duck confit, mushroom tarts, or delicate veal preparations. 🥂 Event Suggestions: An excellent choice for a refined dinner party, a special family gathering, or a romantic meal. Its elegance and approachability make it suitable for both seasoned Burgundy lovers and those new to the region.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Anne Gros is a wine producer based in the village of Vosne-Romanée, in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or, France. Anne Gros is part of an extensive winemaking family in the area and joined her father François at the family estate in 1988. The domaine was named Domaine Anne et François Gros until 1995 and is now simply Domaine Anne Gros.
