FEATURES
The 2023 vintage for Domaine Dujac's Echezeaux Grand Cru is already showing immense promise, described as exuberant and concentrated, with generous yields and alcohol levels typically between 13.3% and 14%. Domaine Dujac commenced its 2023 harvest on September 1st, benefiting from their more spacious and temperature-controlled new winery. The estate is renowned for its commitment to organic farming, certified since 2011, and employs biodynamic practices across its vineyards. A hallmark of their red winemaking, almost 100% whole bunch vinification, was utilised for this Echezeaux.
This Grand Cru displays a beautiful vivid ruby purple colour. The nose is deliciously perfumed, bursting with exotic aromas of smoked plums, smoked duck, spices, orange zest, jasmine tea, dried orange peel, black cherry, plum, huckleberry, fig jam, cranberry, cocoa, and rose petals. On the palate, it is full-bodied, broad, and fleshy, offering a layered and concentrated experience with silky red fruit, refined, fine-grained tannins, a keen line of acidity, and excellent persistence, culminating in a long, saline finish. It's an exceptional Échezeaux, where power and finesse are harmoniously balanced.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions: This complex Grand Cru is a classic partner for equally elegant and flavourful dishes. Consider game meats such as venison or pheasant, Peking duck, spiced duck breast, rich stews, wild mushrooms, or dishes featuring black truffles. It also pairs well with roast white meats, braised dishes, and those with red sauces.
🥂 Event suggestions: This is a wine for the cellar, with a recommended drinking window from 2032-2042. It's a sophisticated and complex expression, perfect for dressing to impress at significant celebrations, fine dining experiences, or as a prized addition to any serious collector's cellar. 【Exceptional Échezeaux, where power and finesse are harmoniously balanced, with a long, saline finish.】
