The 2015 Domaine Dujac Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru hails from a hot yet dry vintage, where Dujac skillfully managed to avoid producing overly 'monster wines' by utilizing more stems and less new oak. Sourced from four different lieux-dits, this wine is noted for its dense and structural character, requiring significant aging to fully reveal its potential.
Expect a deep black hue and a youthfully reserved, musky, and perfumed bouquet of black cherries, blackberries, smoky barbecued game meats, wet peaty soil, and underbrush, with a hint of Morey funk. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, masculine in style, offering rich, juicy, and ripe black and blue fruit flavors, silky mid-palate sap, and subtle tobacco notes. It culminates in a slightly broody, fresh, and tensile finish, with serious structure that needs at least another decade to open up.
🍴 This powerful and structural Pinot Noir is an excellent match for richer game dishes, roasted red meats, or hearty stews.
🥂 A wine for serious collectors, best suited for extended cellaring. When ready, it will be a showstopper at a sophisticated dinner party or a celebratory occasion, especially with decanting. 【A powerful, structural 2015 vintage with significant aging potential】
