FEATURES
The 2020 vintage for Aegerter Bourgogne Chardonnay was characterized by an early growing season with a warmer-than-norm winter and useful precipitation, leading to early budbreak. The summer was warm and dry, with harvest beginning in mid-August, making it one of the earliest recorded in centuries. This vintage yielded intense, succulent reds and classically styled whites, showing plenty of concentration from ripe and clean fruit. The wines are promising, with good volumes for Chardonnay.

Tasting notes for this Bourgogne Chardonnay describe a lovely pale color with silvery highlights. The nose is remarkably complex, offering notes of green apple, pear, crushed stone, and floral hints, alongside peach, nectarine, orange peel, aniseed, and a touch of eucalyptus mint. The palate is bright, fresh, and generous, with citrus fruits, slight tropical notes of apricots and pineapples, balanced acidity, and stony minerality. It presents a delicate, supple roundness with freshness that brings energy and precision, often with delicious notes of almonds and a long, mouthwatering finish.
Food pairing suggestions include poultry, shellfish, sushi, grilled tuna or swordfish, and salads. It also pairs excellently with magnificent iodized products such as freshly seared shrimp carabineros with olive oil and a lemony emulsion, or sea urchin with lemon cream and dill. Mild fried rice or seafood are also good matches.
This wine is ideal for casual gatherings, seafood dinners, or as an aperitif. It's designed to be enjoyed young, within 2-3 years after bottling.
