Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
Chateau L'Evangile is a wine estate located in the Pomerol region on the "right bank" of Bordeaux, that is, the area north of the Dordogne River. The winery is located in the east of Pomerol, covering an area of The 22 hectares (55 acres) of vineyards consist of iron-rich clay and gravel soils. This soil is ideal for growing Merlot, which accounts for most of the acreage, with about a fifth (20%) of the vineyards dedicated to Cabernet Franc. The vines are harvested by hand and vinified plot by plot – the cellar and cellar room were updated in 2004 to help improve this process. After fermentation, this top wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months before being released on the market. Purchased by the Léglise family in the 18th century, the land changed hands several times before being purchased in 1990 by Domaines Baron de Rothschild, owners of Château Lafite Rothschild.
